You have to consider a number of factors, such as the length of hair, texture, and volume, before determining how many bundles of hair to use for a full head. The longer the hair, the more human hair bundles needed to reach a full and voluminous look.

For short hair lengths such as 10-14 inches, you may only require two to three bundles for a natural look because the hair in this range is quite thick, which makes fewer bundles required.

For medium-length hair (which falls into the range of 16-22 inches), the general recommendation is about three to four bundles. This is quite popular among people, but having that extra bundle would help keep it looking really full, almost like there is body density to the hair.

For longer hair, 24 inches and beyond, a minimum of four to five bundles is generally required. As longer hair usually becomes thinner towards the ends, adding bulk with additional extensions keeps it looking thick throughout the entire length.

Straight hair will usually need heftier amounts of bundles due to the fact that it lays flat. Curly or wavy hair, on the other hand, boasts more volume naturally, thus requiring slightly fewer bundles.

If you're using a frontal (13x4 or 13x6 inches), you may just need two to three bundles since the front covers a huge portion of your head. A closure (4x4 or 5x5 inches) will require an extra bundle for complete coverage.

The number of bundles that would be needed usually depends on the desired look, the length of the hair, and then the texture. A proper consultation with the stylist would also outline the perfect amount based on one's desired style.
